"Several local churches are selling tickets and will be bringing groups out for this awesome event! First Christian Church, Park Avenue Baptist, First Baptist Church of Aurantia, IRCUMC, Crosswalk Community Church....and more! Our church has limited seating, so this will be an intimate, up close session with two of contemporary Christian music's hottest artists. We are hosting the concert on TWO NIGHTS in order to offer more options and opportunities for people to attend.

Today 30 Bridges students and leaders were sharing on IDENTITY and facilitating small group discussions - 22 men and 8 women sharing encouragement, experiences, wisdom and fellowship. Identity! Where do you get yours from?

Bridges at BCC's "Get in the Game" - Welcome Back day!

BCC's Bridges Fellowship of Christian Students and Staff participates in the BCC "Welcome Back" day activities on the Titusville campus, August 28, 2012. We gave away vanilla, sugar free, Bob's 'special mix, and mocha lattes. (...oh, and Anna's magnificent chocolate chip cookies!) We accepted donations for the lattes and cookies to raise money for the anti human trafficking movement (donations to be given at the Fashion for Freedom 2 event in downtown Titusville, October 2012). Welcome new students and new Bridges Fellowship members!!

Bridges bowls baby!

Bridges hit the lanes on Friday, May 11th, for our end-of-year fellowship and to celebrate the END of the spring term.  Whoo hoo!!!  Twenty-three of us hit the lanes to show just how badly we can bowl (accept for Tavis, Ashley and Anna - they kicked our butts).  What a great time!  What a great fellowship. ♥♥♥

Fernan wins the rare "Citizen Scholar" award today! May 8, 2012

Bridges own Fernan Suico is awarded the Brevard Community College "Citizen Scholar" award at the Service Learning Award Banquet today (5-8-12).  This award is given only to students who have given 300 or more volunteer hours in their community.  Way to go Fernan! We are so proud of you.  Thank you for having a servant's heart. ♥

On April 25th, 2012, Bridges fellowship of Christian Students and Staff painted a board to donate to the new StoneFire Art Studio here in Titusville. After we painted our handprints on the boarders, we waited for the paint to dry so Bob (our president) could load the board in his truck and take it home to put shellac on it before delivery.  Anyway, we spontaneously began to sing as Krsy Henry strummed a guitar.  It was so cool - a song just rose from our hearts - music and lyrics and heartfelt worship.  It was so cool.  It was a moment I don't think any of us will forget. Thanks to Bob Warford for capturing some of those moments on tape - here is our heartsong - the Bridges Message. ♪♪♪

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012 ~ Bridges finished painting the board to be donated to the StoneFire Art Studio in Titusville today.  What a great time we had!  Laughs, fellowship, and the creating of a new song ~ the Bridges Message.  ♪♥♪♥♪  It was pretty amazing.

Catalyst One-Day ~ Atlanta! - 18 of us traveled to Alpharetta, GA for leadership training

We were blessed with our BCC student activities funds to be able to travel to Alpharetta, Georgia, just north of Atlanta on March 25th to attend Catalyst One-Day Leadership training on March 26th. We had a lovely hotel, great training, wonderful discussions and laughs in the vans going to and from the event. Most of all, we learned valuable lessons in how to "Create a Healthy Culture" as a leader (or part of a leadership team) in any working, civic or worship environment. It was a fantastic, valuable conference and we are all grateful for the opportunity to have participated!

Florida Student Leadership Forum on Faith and Values - March 16-18, 2012

Bridges sent 12 student representatives and one advisor to the Florida State Student Leadership Forum On Faith and Values in Tallahassee, Florida on March 16-18, 2012. We met a lot of great students from around the state who also want to be servant leaders. We had a great time and learned a lot!

4th Annual Break the Chains - End Human Trafficking event in Orlando

Several Bridges Fellowship members volunteered their time on Saturday, January 28th at "Break the Chains" in Orlando, Florida. This event was sponsored by Florida Abolitionist and the Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking. The event featured speakers that highlighted the significant problem of human trafficking in our country, especially in Florida. Bridges members distributed hundreds of posters and other documents/brochures that help identify those caught in trafficking and what to do if you do see or suspect someone being trafficked. Posters and other information was obtained from Homeland Security and the national Polaris Project.

Da' Bridges basketball team scores first win of season!

Introducing Da' Bridges basketball team. God has assembled this group of young men in just eight days. They won their first game in the city-wide minstries league on Friday, January 20th, against Park Avenue Baptist Church 34-28. God is doing something wonderful in Bridges, building relationships, bridges to one another and to Himself. Bridges Blanket Blitz for the homeless - success!

Thanks to everyone who gave BLANKETS during our end-of-the-term Blanket Blitz. We were able to provide a huge box of new and used blankets to our local Salvation Army who said they were glad to get them and would distribute them to the homeless on our cold January/February nights. God bless you for giving!
