So yesterday, Feb. 17, 2011, a group of us attended the Catalyst One Day leadership training in Orlando/Longwood, Florida. Wow - it was great! We learned so much about creating a culture that supports what people do - leadership that is flipped upside down - learning to lead like Jesus lead. Great practical, purposeful advice was shared by the national trainers, Andy Stanley and Craig Groeschel. We had several sessions on topics. Great info, great day!

Leadership training - brain break

We took a break Saturday afternoon during the Lead Like Jesus training and ran out back to the kids playground to re-energize ourselves during the conference/training. It was fun! Loren and Jamie managed to get both of themselves on this teensy, tiny teeter horse at the same time...but not for long!

Lead Like Jesus Encounter/training-Feb. 11-12, 2011

Just returned yesterday from a really good weekend with several Bridges members. We attended the Lead Like Jesus Encounter/training in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. We stayed at The Forum in Pompano Beach, which we discovered was a Christian hotel that was originally a hospital, then converted to a hotel for missionaries. Now all types of people can have their Christian conferences there or stay there. It was nice. The LLJ training was just a few miles away at Gracepoint Church. Those that attended were: Jamie Popper (Vice President), Jason Higginson (Secretary), Loren Hall, Kevin Casner, Josiah Monk and Joshua Fortenbery (Historian). We were blessed to learn so much about servant leadership from our trainers and facilitators, Maritza Dominguez and Pat Pinera. It was a truly profitable weekend. We hope to bring a Lead Like Jesus encounter weekend to the north Brevard area perhaps in the fall of 2011 sponsored by Bridges and the other young adult groups at our various churches - working together to learn to be Christlike leaders.
